Buying
Is anything a subscription?
No. Everything is a one-time purchase — no renewals, no recurring billing.
Can I try it first?
Yes, for most of it. Every browser app — Show Clock, SetlistForge, Stage Plot Generator, SoundSense, RiderSmith and PatchSmith — has a free plan on a free squaresmile.de account. KlarFunk runs a 14-day full trial without an account. The LoudSense browser meter is free, and two templates are free downloads: the Show Day Schedule and the Check: One, Two tech rider.
What do I get with a bundle?
Every item arrives on its own in your Gumroad library, each browser app with its own licence key. The bundle page compares them.
Do I get an invoice? What about VAT?
Gumroad handles the payment and sends the receipt. If you need an invoice with your company name and VAT ID, use the invoice link in your Gumroad receipt.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days, in line with the EU withdrawal period. If a product does not work as described, write to support@squaresmile.de with your Gumroad receipt within 14 days of purchase and I will fix it or refund you in full. Your statutory right of withdrawal as a consumer, set out in § 7 of our Terms, is not affected.
Are the ratings and reviews real?
Ratings and reviews on this store are collected by Gumroad. Only people who bought or downloaded a product can leave one, and Gumroad ties each to that purchase. I do not edit, delete, buy or reward reviews. Feedback from beta testers who got a product for free is marked as beta-tester feedback wherever it is quoted.
After buying
How do I unlock a browser app?
If your squaresmile.de account uses the email you bought with and it is verified, the app unlocks by itself. Otherwise open the claim link on your receipt and paste the key. Step by step: Install & first launch.
I paid with a different email than my squaresmile.de account.
That is fine. Paste the key on the account you want it on — open the app from your dashboard and use its Activate page. One key unlocks one account.
Do the plugins need a licence key or an account?
No. Download them from your Gumroad library and install them; there is nothing to activate.
The plugin or app will not open, or my DAW does not list it.
Our builds are not signed with an Apple or Microsoft developer certificate yet, so your system asks once on the first launch. The one step that clears it is on Install & first launch.
Systems and licences
Which systems do I need?
- Browser apps: a current Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge on a computer, tablet or phone. Stage Plot Generator is built for laptop and tablet.
- Plugins: macOS 11 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel) or Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit), in a VST3 or AU host. Airchain is macOS only. No AAX, so not for Pro Tools.
- KlarFunk: macOS or Windows.
On how many computers can I use it?
- Browser apps: one account, on as many devices as you sign in to.
- KlarFunk: three computers per licence.
- Plugins: on the computers you personally own or use — say your studio machine and your live laptop — for any number of productions, commercial ones included. Sharing or reselling them is not allowed.
Do I get updates?
Browser apps are always the current version. New plugin versions appear in your Gumroad library; for SubPress (1.x) and WidthForge (2.x), updates within the major version are free. KlarFunk updates come as a new download from squaresmile.de.
